Chandigarh, 01st Feb, 2020:- जीरकपुर: चंडीगढ में वाल्मीकि शोभा यात्रा में गुरचरण सिंह को 68 लाख का नोटिस व नौकरी से निकालने का मामला अब पंजाब में भी तूल पकडता जा रहा है, लगता है कि धीरे धीरे यह आग दिल्ली तक पहुंचेगी
इस नोटिस व गुरचरण सिंह को कमिश्नर व पूर्व मेयर दवारा रंजिशन नौकरी से निकालने से देश भर में पूरे वालमीकि समाज में बहुत रोष व्याप्त है व चंडीगढ या अन्य कई स्थानों पर बार-बार कमिश्नर व पूर्व मेयर राजेश कालिया के पुतले फूंके जा रहे है
वाल्मीकि समाज व उनका समर्थन कर रही कई यूनियनों की यही मांग है कि जल्द से जल्द यह वाल्मीकि समाज की भावनाओं को ठेस पहुंचाने वाले काले नोटिस को व गुरचरण सिंह को नौकरी पर बहाल किया जाए

Goa 2020 National Games Mascot ‘Rubigula’ Takes Centre Stage at Launch Event

Chandigarh, 01st Feb, 2020:- The official mascot of the 36th National
Games of India, Rubigula, Flame-Throated Bulbul made a grand entry amidst
traditional Shigmo and Carnaval acts at a glittering Launch Event held at the
GTDC Roof Top, Panaji on Saturday.
Rubigula was an instant hit amongst everyone present there
with everyone jostling to get a glimpse of the mascot. The name for the mascot
‘Rubigula’ was chosen after sports enthusiasts from across India were invited
to submit their suggestions through a social media contest.
Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant, Union
Minister of State (I/c) for Youth Affairs and Sports, Kiren Rijiju, Union
Minister of State (I/c) for AYUSH and President of Goa Olympic Association
Shripad Naik, Dy. Chief Minister and Sports Minister of Goa Manohar Ajgaonkar,
Indian Olympic Association President Narinder Dhruv Batra and Secretary General
Rajeev Mehta, Sports Minister of Haryana Sandeep Singh, Sports Minister of
Tripura Manoj Kanti Deb, Sports Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Mama Natung,
Sports Secretaries of various states, sportspersons, NGOC members and other
dignitaries marked their presence at the event.
Two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Sushil Singh and World
Champion in Athletics Anju Bobby George also graced the evening with their
presence.
Goa will be hosting the 36th edition of the
National Games from 20th October to 4th November 2020. The event will see
participation by 36 states and union territories, 12,000 + athletes/officials
and will host 37 sports disciplines across 24 venues in Goa.
Commenting on the launch event, Chief Minister
of Goa & Chairman of the NGOC Dr. Pramod Sawant said that there was no
better way to begin the festivities for the National Games than the unveiling
of the mascot ‘Rubigula’. The mascot incorporates the best elements and characteristics
of Goa and the Goan people. It is another step forward for the preparations of
the National Game and Rubigula will generate even more interest for these
Games, especially among young people.
He added that it was the vision and dream of
our late Chief Minister of Goa, Manohar Parrikar to host the National Games in
Goa. We are confident of successfully executing the event. We are on track to
host the multi-discipline sporting event which will bring superlative talent
from across India to the Goan turf. Through these Games, we also wish to
showcase our culture, food, natural beauty and extend our hospitality to all
the States and UTs that will be coming to Goa during the Games.
Union Minister of State (I/c) for Youth Affairs
and Sports, Kiren Rijiju said that Goa is a sport loving state and with the
Government actively promoting sports in the State there is no reason why Goa
cannot become a powerhouse in sports. World class infrastructure has been
created for these Games which will benefit sportspersons in the State. The
Games will help imbibe a sports culture in the State. We are expecting a grand
celebration from October 20 to November 4 which will bring athletes from across
India. I’m confident that Goa will do a great job in hosting the Games and the
National Games 2020 will be the best and biggest ever in the history of India.
Dy Chief Minister and Sports Minister of Goa,
Babu Manohar Azgaonkar said that enthusiasm and interest for the National Games
Goa 2020 is growing and will continue to grow as we get even closer to the
staging the country’s biggest multi-discipline sporting event. The
infrastructure created for these Games will have long-term benefits for the
State and its people in the years to come. With just nine months to go for the
event, activities around the National Games are set to significantly increase
in the coming months with Rubigula leading the flock. He urge everyone to
actively participate to make the Games a successful event.
The guests at the Launch Event were treated to an extravagant series of performances that embodied the spirit of Goa. The splendid evening was hosted by renowned television personality Anusha Dandekar.
CII Northern Region Welcomes Union Budget 2020-21

Chandigarh, 01st Feb, 2020:- Confederation of Indian
Industry (CII) welcomes the Government of India’s Budget 2020 which dwells on a
roadmap towards building a new and aspirational India, focusing on boosting income and enhancing the purchasing
power of people.
CII is happy to acknowledge that many of our recommendations
have been incorporated in the Union Budget 2020-21. Some of these include
enhancing farmers’ income, availability of piped water for all, balancing the
use of fertilizers, encouraging greater use of solar energy. The abolishment of
the Dividend Distribution Tax (DDT), as laid in the Budget is a welcome step
and also in line with the CII recommendations, which will improve investor
sentiments and make India an attractive investment destination. CII in particular
is happy to note that a number of initiatives have been undertaken for the
startups. Government’s announcement of deferment of tax payment by employees on
ESOPs from startups for 5 years is a welcome step as it will aid to retain
talent as well as reduce financial burden on the startups.
Sameer Gupta, Chairman, CII Northern Region highlighted that the
agriculture sector which is the mainstream of the Indian economy, particularly
in the Northern Region has been given special attention in the Budget. To
address the issues that have plagued the agriculture sector, CII compliments
Hon’ble Finance Minister for announcements such as seamless national cold
supply chain for perishables, setting up of ‘Kisan Rail’ through Public-Private
Partnership, Incentivizing farmers to go solar, addressing water problem among
others. He added that the Budgetary allocation under the lead of agriculture
& allied activities, irrigation and R&D has been increased to INR 2.83
lakh crores, which will be a big game changer for Northern states.
Samir Gupta expressed that Northern Region being a landlocked
area, greater thrust has been given by the Hon'ble Finance Minister on
connectivity, which will greatly ease the movement of goods and people. For
promoting the all-round growth and development of UTs of Jammu & Kashmir
and Ladakh, CII is happy to note that the Union Budget has allocated Rs 30,757
crores for Jammu & Kashmir and another Rs 5,958 crores for Ladakh. CII
looks forward to working with the respective UT Administrations for enhancing
growth.
To sum up, CII would say it’s a long term view focusing on sustainable development of India. It’s an inclusive, forward looking and aspirational Budget.
Make justice Accessible to Underprivileged: Justice Ajay Tewari

Ajay Tewari, Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Chandigarh inaugurated the
11th edition of the National Rounds of the Leiden-Sarin International Air Law
Moot Court Competition at the Army Institute of Law, here today.
Justice
Ajay Tewari, appreciated the efforts of the organizers i.e. the Sarin Memorial
Legal Aid Foundation and Leiden University in drawing up a wonderful
proposition, on air law, which raised legal issues concerning countries and
people around the globe.
Speaking
on the occasion he said that greatest service that young budding lawyers can do
to the society is to provide justice to a large number of underprivileged who
fail to reach the courts because of limited means or otherwise. He added
that this would be the greatest service young lawyers can do by giving them
access to justice.
On
this occasion, Horacio Bernardes Neto from Brazil, President of the
International Bar Association (IBA), the Guest of Honour at this event, said
that this unique competition on air law in the world is providing much-needed
training to young legal minds from an international perspective especially when
India is excelling in every the playing field in the world.
He
said that IBA with over 100,000 members in 142 countries of the world are
looking at training lawyers to tackle the issues of bullying, sexual
harassment, and even wellness.
Justice
(retd) S.S.Sodhi, President of the Sarin Memorial Legal Aid Foundation
complimented twenty teams which participated in the moot court on international
law, which has been founded by the Sarin Foundation and Leiden University of
the Netherlands.

Sarin, Secretary-General of the Sarin Memorial Legal Aid Foundation, underlined
the significance of training young lawyers in international air law especially
with Indian aviation market expected to grow substantially by the year 2030.
He
announced the winners of the “Sarin Foundation Best Mooter of the Year Award”
in which the prize money of Rs.50,000 was shared by Upasna Dahiya, Lokendra
Singh, and Shiekhar Panwar of the Army Institute of Law.
Nitin
Sarin, one of the select few legal experts in the international air law
informed that the three finalists shall participate in the Sarin International
Air Law Moot Court competition at St Petersburg, Russia on 17-19 April 2020.

students of the College on 1st February, 2020, in collaboration
with PEARL DISCOVER,
designed to evaluate the students’ interests, aptitude, personality and
emotional quotient. They also offered career development options to the
students.
The Principal, Dr.
Jatinder Kaur encouraged the students to participate in such events to enhance
their critical skills.
