When Badshah Had a Rap Jugalbandi on Superstar Singer

Chandigarh 29^th July:- Indian rapper Badshah known for his style quotient will be soon seen on Sony Entertainment Television’s kid’s singing reality show Superstar Singer. show that gives platform to young and emerging talents is judged by eminent singers and composers- Alka Yagnik, Javed Ali and Himesh Reshammiya. The show that has already gained a lot of popularity amongst its viewers is back with another gala weekend with powerpacked performances. In the upcoming episode of the show rapper Badshah known for his peppy numbers will be seen encouraging the young talents.

In the upcoming show, 13-year-old contestant Mohd. Fazil from Jaipur and 7-year-old contestant Thanu Khan from Barmar will be seen setting the stage on fire while they sing Badshah’s popular songs- ‘Kala Chashma’ and ‘Selfie le le re’.  Watching the powerful performance Badshah couldn’t control him and joined the kids to have a rap jugalabandi and sing his part of the song.

Appreciating the performance Badshah mentioned that it's very tough to be on the stage and sing in front of eminent judges when the entire nation is watching. He further added that contestants have another level of energy and enthusiasm in them. In response Thanu continued that he sing with all his heart when he is on the stage. Badshah even mentioend that he is Salman Ali's huge fan. He admires him for his style of singing. He urged Thanu to acquire his style and learn as much as he can from Salman Ali.

SBI Reduces Interest Rate on Deposits Across All Maturities

Chandigarh 29^th July:- Country’s largest lender State Bank of India (SBI),in view of the falling interest rate scenario and surplus liquidity, realigns its interest rate on Retail Term Deposits (less than Rs. 2 Crs) and Bulk Term Deposits (Rs. 2 Crs & above) w.e.f.01/08/2019.

For time deposits with longer tenors, there is a reduction upto 20 bps in the Retail segment and 35 bps in the Bulk segment. Interest rates have been slashed by 50-75 bps for time deposits with shorter tenors, i.e. upto 179 days.

Advisor Holds a Meeting on Jal Shakti Abhiyan

Chandigarh 29^th July:- The Govt. of India has launched the Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA) for intensive water conservation measures in identified water stressed blocks and districts across the country. Chandigarh is a part of the phase 1 of this abhiyan from 1st July 2019 to 15th September 2019. The campaign will be a collaborative effort with the State Governments involving officers, groundwater experts and scientists who would be visiting the identified Blocks and Districts.  

Accordingly, Manoj Parida, Advisor to the Administrator, U.T, Chandigarh held a meeting on Jal Shakti Abhiyan today at UT Secretariat. During the meeting points like Water conservation and rainwater harvesting, Renovation of traditional and other water bodies, Reuse, bore well recharge structures, Watershed Development and Intensive afforestation were discussed. 

Jal Shakti Abhiyan will be collaborative effort between various departments like Municipal Corporation, Engineering Department, Forest Department etc. A Jal Shakti Andolan has already been launched to sensitize the public and to ensure people’s participation in water conservation. Schools, colleges, RWAs and market associations have been roped in to take active part in this andolan. Various tree plantation drives have been conducted to increase awareness and enhance green cover of the city.

The meeting was attended by the Arun Kumar Gupta, Home Secretary, KK Yadav, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Sachin Rana, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Smt. Nazuk Kumar, Sub Divisional Magistrate (Central), Sudhanshu Gautam, Sub Divisional Magistrate (East), Manish Lohan, Assistant Estate Officer UT Chandigarh,   Mukesh Anand, Chief Engineer, UT Chandigarh and other officials of Chandigarh Administration.

Viva Dance Studio Opens: Certified Dance Diploma Courses Unveiled

Panchkula 29^th July:- Winner of dance reality show ‘High Fever Dance Ka Naya Tevar 2019’ on &TV and MTV Fame artist-Roadies Real Heroes participant -Tara Prasad, unveiled Viva Dance Studio, at Sector 17, Panchkula.

A Grand Opening Dance workshop too was organized by the Founder of Viva Dance Studio -Akanksha Gupta, who is from the fitness industry, her last assignment was-General Manager,Bodyzone Fitness & Spa Pvt Ltd. She is also running another venture-Urban Readers Club for Kids since 2017. The workshop was conducted by Tara under two genres- Kids Freestyle and Bachata open level. A large number dance enthusiasts; of all ages took part in the workshops, where they learnt finer nuances of dance from Tara.

While interacting with media Tara said that he had fun with the kids and youngsters in the workshops. The tricity & region has a lot of potential to produce skillful dancers. Initiatives like Viva will go a long way in providing budding dancers the requisite training by experts, in a professional environment.

Viva Dance Studio offers classes in various dance forms. In street styles there’s Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba. In Latin Ball Room there’s Cha Cha, Jive and Rumba. Speaking on the occasion, Akanksha Gupta said that we have started the studio in an endeavor to provide authentic education and training in Dance and Fitness under one roof. We will be delivering   certified diploma courses by Club Salsa International (CSI) and we are affiliated to International Dance Council (IDC). The other USP is that all dance & fitness programmes will be disseminated under tricity’s only International artist–Varun D S Rana-who will be heading the operations of Viva.

It is pertinent to mention here that Varun is Founder of Club Salsa International in India. He was the Indian coach for Salsa for Team Dance Sport at Asian Indoor Games 2017. What’s more, he has been Joint Secretary of All India Dance Sport Federation (AIDSF), Executive Member for World Bhangra Council and Member of International Dance Council.

Varun D.S Rana, In Charge of Operations of the studio said that our studio under a separate vertical  ‘The Artist Bank’, will offer certified courses in modeling and acting to youngsters desirous of following their dream in the entertainment industry. We have also initiated a production house facility. Under this, we will for our students shoot video songs, web series and documentaries. First Installation Ceremony of Rotary Club Zirakpur Held

Chandigarh 29^th July:- The Installation ceremony of Rtn. Karan Jaspal Singh as President  & Board of Director 2019-20 of newly formed Rotary Club, Zirakpur was held on Sunday evening.

The charter of club was presented by PDG Shaju Peter and IPDG Parveen Goyal. The club which was formed recently, has been sponsored by Rotary Club Midtown and Rotary Club Chandigarh.

Rtn Rajendra K. Saboo past Rotary International President was chief guest during occasion. He has served Rotary International in many capacities and he has been District Governor, Chairman and/or member of various R.I. Committees in different years, International Assembly Discussion Leader, R.I. Director, R.I. President, Chairman of The Rotary Foundation Trustees and Trustee of The Rotary Foundation.

PJ Singh, AJ Singh from Tynor International and Kawaljeet senior advocate were guest of honours.

The other office bearers of club are; Rtn Parminder Singh- Vice President, Rtn Sharmita Bhinder- General Secretary, Rtn Dilraj Singh Sohi- Joint Secretary and Dr Vishal Dua – President Elec.

Interestingly under the guidance of PP Dr. VJS Vohra from Rotary Midtown and Rtn Saitaj Lamba from Rotary Club Chandigarh and Rtn CJ Singh , before its installation the club has already started its social work by accomplishing four projects in this month including blood donation camp, medical camp, self-defense camp  a pro-active traffic police project where 20 raincoats were distributed to Zirakpur traffic police .

Speaking during occasion, Rtn. Karan Jaspal Singh said that the future projects of Club included help in hands at  medical centers, water and sanitation at Zirakpur, regulating traffic chaos with help of SP Traffic and signature projects under which self-defense classes will be conducted to teach self-defense technique to the students and residents of in-and-around area. 

During occasion, special children from Chandigarh based NGO Empower Joy performed bhagra which was choreographed by Jas K Shan.

Rtn Sharmita Bhinder who is a co-founder of Empower Joy said that when we talk of Rotary theme of ‘Rotary Connect World’, we cannot leave our special children who need to be brought into main streamline of society.
