“concluded today.
Prof T. Sundararaman,
Global Coordinator for People’s Health Movement and Adjunct Faculty, Centre of
Technology and Policy-IIT Madras chaired the session on Health Management
Information System. He highlighted the evolution of HMIS system that faced many
challenges with passing time and suggested to take innovative and creative
solutions after reading theory and leanings from positive as well as negative
experiences.
Dr. D. K Ojha Deputy
Director General (Stats) MoHFW explicitly explained HMIS indicators and their
linkage with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030. He explained ongoing
processes to overcome the challenges faced for. Eg. The challenges of internet
connectivity in remote areas is now on board and will be replaced with Internet
Optical Fiber by April 2020. Dr. U. M. Jha, Sr. Consultant MoHFW elaborated
latest features of new HMIS on Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP)
will now be rolled out for triangulation of all the soft ware’s.
Dr. Tanica, Additional
professor, PHFI elaborated critical elements of data for decision making and
challenges and gaps for using the data. Dr. Devaki Nambiar, Program Head, from
George Institute for Global Health and his team explained the dimensions of
inequality and monitoring health inequalities that involves selecting health
indicators and talked about data requirement for inequality analysis followed
by hands on training for equity analysis.
Dr. Chandrakant Laharia
from WHO India talked about Health System Strengthening and UHC.
