JD Institute of Fashion Technology Partnered in the 6th Edition of India Fashion Week-London

Chandigarh 10th December:- JD Institute of Fashion Technology partnered with the India Fashion Week, London for the sixth consecutive year. The 2019 event and exhibition was held on November 16-17 at Novotel London, where JD students showcased their designs along with professional designers from India.
The sixth edition of India Fashion Week, London embarked upon a new journey for budding designers and provided a platform for talented designers from across the world. The celebration involved seminars, ramp walk and talk sessions on style and trends and various aspects of fashion. The students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology showcased their talent on a global platform. Their work represented the theme of sustainable fashion and highlighted traditional arts like Rogan art, a design style from Kutch, Gujarat; handloom designs from Arunachal Pradesh, and so on. The finale costumes were designed by noted Indian designer Samant Chauhan, presented by JD Institute of Fashion Technology.
Budding designer Rehan Ahmad Baley, the proprietor of Fouzia’s Couture, a label based in Dubai won the RC Dalal Memorial Award that is considered as one of the most prestigious awards at the India Fashion Week London under the banner National Asian Wedding Show, undoubtedly the Largest Asian wedding show in London. This award was initiated in the year 2017 to carry forward the legacy of RC Dalal for young talent.
Commenting on the event, Rupal Dalal, Executive Director, JD Institute of Fashion Technology, said that it is a matter of honour and proud to be the part of such a prestigious event for six consecutive years. India Fashion Week has helped the emerging young talent of India to showcase their creative potential and establish a foothold in the design industry. We wish them all the best.
The second award category was the Young Talent Award, presented to Jediiian Tonu Riba, for her collection based on handloom weaved traditional fabrics of Arunachal Pradesh designed towards progressively decadent designs.
