12th Mar, 2020:- An Exclusive Exhibition on the rich culture, art,
cuisines & products of Thailand – ‘Top Thai Brands 2020’ organized by
Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, Royal
Thai Government and supported by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) was
inaugurated today at Himachal Bhawan, Chandigarh and shall be open for visitors
till 15 March 2020. 24 distinguished Thai exhibitors will
showcase their products during this four-day fair; while repositioning the
‘Brand Thailand’ in India, amidst its local citizens at Chandigarh and
adjoining areas. Cultural performances by Thai Artists, Demonstration of Thai
Cookery, Tasting of Thai Food & Fruits, Special Buyer-Seller Meetings
formed important highlights on the first day of the exhibition.
Mrs Lippi Parida. Author &
Creative Artist while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the exhibition, said
tghat she encourage the citizens of Tricity to come and explore quality Thai
products, right here in Chandigarh. She expressed that she was immensely
delighted to see her favorite Thai Brands in Tricity itself and appreciated the
efforts taken by DITP and CII to organize the grand show.
Ms Saithong Soiphet, Minister Counsellor
(Commercial), Office of Commercial Affairs, Royal Thai Embassy also graced the
occasion and said that she is extremely delighted that the exhibition is taking
place in Chandigarh once again with a tremendous response from the local
citizens. She also mentioned that Thailand values its fruitful trade relations
with India and that the exhibition will offer an array of solutions to both consumers
and traders under different product portfolios.
Dr S P S Grewal, Chairman, CII Chandigarh and Ankur
Singh Chauhan, Regional Director, CII Northern Region were also present during
the occasion and explored the stalls at the show along with other key
dignitaries.
The products on display encompassed garments, jewelry,
accessories, home decors, jigsaw lamps, textiles, food & beverages,
vegetables, bird's nest beverage, nuts & dried fruits. The exhibition also
showcased health & beauty products including skin care, hair care,
over-the-counter medicines, light laxatives, perfumes, humidifier &
essential oils, Thai herbal cosmetics & spa products. Household products
such as mango wood kitchenware, tableware, photo frames, wall décors, opal glasses,
stainless steel furniture, Thai handicrafts, etc. also formed important
segments at the exhibition.
The show not only aims to attract consumers but also
intends to assist in shaping B2B interactions, accelerating the commercial
momentum, by connecting a variety of stakeholders including traders,
manufacturers & distributors from India and Thailand. This exclusive and
one of its kind country specific exhibition in the region is being organized to
showcase the iconic culture of Thailand and reach out to the local citizenry
with an exemplary range of products and services.
