Chandigarh 07th
October:- To make the forthcoming festival Karva Chauth – which is a
celebration of the bond of love between husband & wife both memorable and
colorful, an exhibition – ‘Afreen’ has begun at Himachal Bhawan, Sector 28,
Chandigarh. The exhibition is themed on the upcoming festival of ‘Karva Chauth’
and ‘Diwali’.
The exhibition which will
be on from October 5 till Monday-October 7, is being organised by Planning
Gurus in collaboration with Royal Day Events.
Thirty(30) exhibitors
from across the country have brought fresh, elegant & ethnic designer wear and other lifestyle-enhancing
products. The stalls from Thailand are also attracting eyeballs with their
authentic Thai products in the genre of ladies' accessories, bags and much
more.
Rattandeep Singh Walia,
Director of the Planning Gurus said that the exhibition is totally dedicated to
the upcoming ‘Karva Chauth’ and the other festivals on the horizon. The
exhibitors have come from across India under one roof with exclusively designed
suits, sarees, lehengas etc. The exhibition also has exclusive items like
‘Miniature Karva Thalis’, designer earthen lamps and lots more.
A unique feature at the
exhibition is the fillip it is giving to women artisans from rural areas of
tricity. Label ‘Plumtales by Kuhu Enterprises’ which is owned by a young
entrepreneur Rupali Saini, has roped in rural women living in
Chandigarh’s vicinity, to create beautiful stuffed toys like dolls, giraffes
and pencil toppers, bookmarks and posters.
Pooja Chaudhary, Director
of the Royal Day Events added that keeping in mind the upcoming festival
season, we have tried to curate an exhibition which is a one-stop-destination
for all. Apart from that we also have a good range of jewellery, traditional
& western wear collections, apparels and home décor items available at very
reasonable rates; for tricity residents.
The exhibition witnessed
a heavy footfall on its opening day. At the exhibition décor items which have
been made especially for the festive season like torans (decorative door
hangings) which can also be lit up, murals and colorful diyas are catching the
attention of women and young girls.
At the exhibition,
visitors flocked to see the comprehensive range of beautiful designer long

Clothing’ from Ludhiana is displaying some magnificent designer dresses, while
a city-based studio ‘Arth’ by Leena also has showcased designed dresses &
