Chandigarh 13th September:- The
department of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging, PGIMER, Chandigarh is organizing the
18th Annual Meeting of the Asian and Oceanic Society of
Pediatric Radiology (AOSPR) combined with the 16th Annual Meeting
of the Indian Society of Pediatric Radiology (ISPR) from 14th September
to 16th September 2018. It is for the first time that the
AOSPR meeting is being held in India. The conference is being organized under
the able guidance of Prof. Niranjan Khandelwal, the Head of the Department of
Radiodiagnosis and Imaging, and organizing chairperson and Dr. Kushaljit Singh
Sodhi and Dr. Akshay Kumar Saxena as organizing secretaries.
The Indian
Society of Pediatric Radiology was founded in the year 2003 and conducted its
first Annual Meeting in Pondicherry. From a humble beginning of less than 50
members, the society can now boast of more than 450 active members. The Asian
and Oceanic Society of Pediatric Radiology is a society of pediatric
radiologists in the Asian and Oceanic region and aims to promote the specialty
in the region through cooperative research, teaching and education.
This
conference will bring together the renowned experts of pediatric radiology from
across the globe who will share their knowledge and expertise. It will also
provide an opportunity for the delegates to interact with the experts and
discuss the interesting cases. This three day mega-event will cover most of the
important areas of pediatric radiology and will stress on the fact that
children are not just miniature adults. More than 25 international faculty
members including representatives from USA, Canada, UK, Japan, Australia and
New Zealand will be present in the meeting. This is in addition to the experts
in Paediatric Radiology from the Indian Society of Paediatric Radiology. Dr.
Tim Cain from Australia, who is the President of AOSPR and Dr. Jayaraj
Govindaraj, President of ISPR are also attending the conference.
Apart from
didactic lectures, there will be workshops on ultrasound and MRI in pediatric
practice and sessions on Interventional Radiology. A
clinico-radiological-pathological case presentation is a special feature of the
conference, wherein experts will try to correlate the clinical and radiological
findings with the pathological findings. The meeting is being attended by about
800 delegates including residents, fellows and practicing radiologists.
