Advanced Cardiac Center Uncovers New Horizons: Case Beamed Live to Singapore

Chandigarh 17th Jan:- The fame of Department of Cardiology, PGIMER, Chandigarh is reaching its pinnacle on global medical geography, courtesy to its phenomenal patient care and medical education. On to its list of imparting and sharing education with global peers, one more name was added on 16th January, when a technically challenging case was transmitted live from PGI to an interventional cardiology conference at Singapore. The conference “29th Singapore Live conference - 2020” is considered to be one of the most reputed annual meeting of the Asia Pacific region and is attended by about 1000 intervention cardiologists from all across the world.
Speaking about the case, which was beamed live from catheterization lab of advanced cardiac center, Professor Rajesh Vijayvergiya commented that it was a rare case of single coronary, where all the three major branches were arising from the one site.  There was a calcified block at the origin of one of the artery, which was successfully treated by putting the stent after doing rotablation and intravascular imaging. He commented that it was a technically challenging case, which required certain advanced technology such as rotablation and intravascular ultrasound to achieve the best results. The case was extensively discussed & appreciated well amongst the global experts, who were witnessing the live case at Singapore.
Dr. Rajesh Vijayvergiya commented that PGIMER is one of the most prominent tertiary care institute in India, which is demonstrating the live cardiology procedures at various international scientific meetings and helping the medical community to learn the advancement in the cardiology field, worldwide.
