Jan, 2020:- Navsankalp association, a student run
organisation based in tri-city(Chandigarh) which aims at providing medical aid
to the critically ill children below the age of 17 in PGIMER and GMSH -
16. Till date NavSankalp has
contributed a sum of 66 lacs and has saved 181 lives.
The Annual General Meeting for the
session 2019-20 was held at DAV College, Sector-10, Chandigarh on 21st of
January, 2020.
The event featured a prudent donation for a 3 year old boy
named “Arhaan” afflicted by “X-Linked Agammaglobulinemia” and
requires monthly IVIg therapy. Currently Arhaan requires 2 vials per month,
which may increase as the weight of the child increases. Arhaan- is the s/o Umar
Farooq (Farmer) and Mrs. Fameeda Akhtar (house maker) who is a resident of
Village Akhal, Dist- Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Monthly wage of the family is
INR 8000-10000.
XLA is a life threatening Primary
Immune Deficiency disease (Immunological Disorder) as a result of which he has very
low levels. He needs replacement intravenous immunoglobulin (blood product)
therapy every month. Rough estimation of his yearly cost of the therapy is
approximately INR300,000 and two month expenditure was paid off by
organization.
NavSankalp
endowed the sum of INR25000 to Arhaan medicated under “PGIMER, Chandigarh”.
