Chandigarh 05th September:- State
Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT), Sector 32, UT Chandigarh
launched Chandigarh Diksha (Digital Infrastructure for knowledge Sharing), an
initiative of MHRD, GoI to improve the quality of school education in the
States/UTs. B.L. Sharma, Education Secretary, UT Chandigarh, launched the
DIKSHA platform on the occasion of Teachers’ Day today.
DIKSHA as a
national digital Infrastructure will provide common platform to the teachers
and other stakeholders to share, collaborate and contribute their work and
achievements. It will also ensure capacity building and continuous Teachers
Professional Development (TPD), Chandigarh DIKSHA has introduced Energised Text
Books (ETB) with QR codes for grades 3 to 10 making online content for these grades
available in English and Hindi medium. The platform will make variety of
resources available to teachers so that they use the one which is most
appropriate to his/her teaching style. The platform will also facilitate the
learner to utilize multiple resources for conceptual clarity and joyful
learning. Chandigarh DIKSHA has also introduced basic TPD course envisioning
supplementing teacher training with contextualize digital content.
Rubinderjit
Singh Brar, Director School Education, and Surender S. Dahiya, Director SCERT,
UT Chandigarh were also present on this occasion.
